Joyce Lonsdale

Joyce Lonsdale District --the newly formed District of Chemainus and Ladysmith!

This name was chosen to honour a wonderful lady --who actually lived in all three communities we cover --Crofton, Chemainus and Ladysmith. Some describe Joyce as a "Lady Baden Powell" , who truly devoted life to Guiding in every sense of the word. She lived our laws! Joyce was even one of our Guiders badge testors when she was in Guides, and Joyce had no problem telling you to learn more about that badge before she would hand it over! Her family is honored to have this District named after Joyce.

Our merge is really only Councils -- Units will be the same. More Guiders to draw from will hopefully bring the girls more fun events, and more friendships for us all!!

A District Camp planning committee is already getting the gears going for an October camp.
