Bursaries
The Area Awards Committee or sub-Committee appointed by them, serves as a selection Committee related to the following Bursaries: Please note that information and applications forms will be sent to all District Commissioners and Ranger Contact Guiders.
Recipients and applicants will be notified of the results after selections.
The Pacific Shores Area Bursary:
2010 application deadline April 15, 2010 (mailing address listed on forms)
- This bursary has been established by Pacific Shores Area to recognize the contributions of its active girl members. It offers financial assistance at the time of their High School graduation to assist in furthering their post secondary education/training in a field that will enhance the life of the recipient.
- Successful applicants will receive a $500 Pacific Shores Area bursary certificate

Edith Duncan (Krebs) Memorial Bursary
2010 Application deadline April 1st (mailing address listed on forms)
- The family of Edith Duncan (Krebs) has generously sponsored this bursary in the hope that it may help a member of Girl Guides to further her education. The full value of $2,000. will be dispersed in two equal instalments of $1,000.00 each over two years. It is available to graduating grade 12 students or mature students returning to further their education within five years of successful completion of grade 12. Applications will be accepted as per the family’s request from members within the following Districts:
- Coastal Rainforest, Hurford, Nanaimo Piper, Nanaimo Arbutus, Waters Edge.

Last Bastion Trefoil Guild 2010 Bursary
Eligibility: Graduating Rangers and Junior Leaders in Hurford, Nanaimo Piper, Nanaimo Arbutus Districts of Pacific Shores Area. Ranger Guiders in these districts will be notified to submit names of qualifying girls so application forms can be emailed / mailed directly to them.

Chief Commissioner gold certificate request form 01/10 (MSWord)Note: There are 3 levels of the Chief Commissioner's Award. The Bronze and Silver level certificates can be ordered via e-commerce. In B.C. we have a different Gold level certificate procedure.
Please use the above Chief Commissioner gold certificate request form. This form must be completed by the contact Guider and signed by the Area Commissioner before it is forwarded on to B.C. Guide House.
The award certificate will then be processed: iMIS input done and award certificate sent with a presentation folder to the name listed on the form for presentation and the contact Guider will need to purchase the pin from e-commerce Guide Store.
Each January, the names of girls who have earned their CCGA in previous year will be put on an invitation list for the official ceremony at Government House in Victoria usually held some time in May.
