Chief Commissioner Awards
At an achievement recognition ceremony held on May 13, 2006 in Victoria, Mid Island Senior Branch girls -- Kristal Clement , Darcie Herrmann, Victoria Skramstad, Amy Bercier, Amanda Dodd , Corrine Nelson, Christine Williams, Anna Quist , Christine Quist, Elyse Pepin, Britta Peterson, Amanda Zutz , Carly Wenner, Elizabeth Cronin , Gwen Temmel, and Caroni Young were awarded the Chief Commissioner's Gold Award by BC Girl Guide's Provincial Commissioner Judy Maurice.
The Chief Commissioner's Gold Award is the highest honour that can be given to a Girl Guide in Canada. The girls were among 78 members of BC Girl Guides honoured at the event, which showcased the organization's top youth members from around the province. The Chief Commissioner's Gold Award is the ultimate award a young woman can earn as a member of Girl Guides of Canada before becoming an adult. It is presented at the successful completion of the Senior Branches program. Senior Branches are open to girls 15-18+, and are divided into three programs: Rangers, Cadets, and Junior Leaders.
